Overview

The tower at Lebanon Valley Junction is located adjacent to the Lebanon Valley bridge over the Schuylkill River near West Reading, Pa. The operator controlled train movements over the Reading Belt Branch and its connection with the Lebanon Valley, including interlockings at Belt Line Jct, Tulp, Valley Jct, Wyomissing Jct, Cumru Jct, and Klapperthal Jct. It remained in operation until 1987 when it was closed by Conrail and control of the interlocking was shifted to the Harrisburg dispatcher. The windows were bricked over and the tower continues to house signal equipment. The machine from this tower has been preserved and is presently on display at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum in Hamburg, Pa.
